Hearts of Hope Australia
Mission
To relieve the suffering and distress of members of the community born with complex heart conditions, their families, and those families that have lost their children to Congenital Heart Disease. We do this by:
Providing non-medical support, information and other assistance directly to families;
Raising awareness of complex Congenital Heart Disease to create a broader understanding of the challenges faced by members of the community affected by these conditions;
Supporting the medical community by raising funds for research programs and providing information about the day to day experiences of those living with complex CHD; and
Working co-cooperatively with other organisations that share our goals.
About
We are a voluntary support organisation that was set up in 2002 by a group of parents with children born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.
We offer non-medical support to all families with a child born with a heart condition that cannot be cured through medical intervention. This includes, but is not limited to, single ventricle anomalies such as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.
To help achieve our aims, and to provide better support to these children and their families, Hearts of Hope Australia was incorporated as a non-profit company in August 2004. We are a Health Promotion Charity and have Deductible Gift Recipient endorsement from the Australian Taxation Office. Heart of Hope Australia is a national organisation.
